The Job
To develop, research, exhibit, and publish Mia’s collections of American Art.
In this role, you will….
1. Interpret the museum’s collections of American Art through permanent collection gallery displays and didactic materials. Propose and oversee regular gallery rotations. Speak publicly about the museum’s collection and provide training for museum guides so that they can accurately and knowledgeably represent the collection.
2. Conduct research and mount special exhibitions, with accompanying publications that add to the field of knowledge about American Art. Such exhibitions should be of the scale of Cargill and/or US Bank Galleries, but do not preclude larger-scaled shows.
3. Oversee the care and preservation of the collection by ensuring proper and responsible handling and installation of objects and by recommending objects for conservation treatment. Participate in the museum’s efforts to secure funding for conservation initiatives.
4. Locate, research, and propose acquisition of American works of art that significantly augment the museum’s existing collections. Review the museum collections of American Art for potential deaccessions. Maintain a current knowledge of the art market and professional relations with art dealers.
5. Develop and coordinate lectures and activities pertaining American Art for the museum’s Art of the Americas Affinity group. Foster and maintain relationships with trustees, collectors, potential donors, and the general public, including community outreach.
6. Actively participate in broader museum initiatives through committees or specially formed teams.
7. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned, including assisting the head of the department as assigned.

· Master’s degree in related field of study required; Ph.D. or ABD preferred
· Proficiency in applicable languages, preferably Spanish
· Minimum of 3 years of employment in a collection-based curatorial department with direct experience in the area of American Art, including proven record of organizing exhibitions and producing publications of high quality
· Demonstrated ability to write interpretive material
· Significant demonstrated art historical research skills and experience

The Job
Develop and implement comprehensive and holistic strategies that raise and enhance the profile of Mia, its collections, and programs and drive visitor attendance at the museum. This director-level role manages functions including social media, email, public and media relations, paid media, website content and internal communications to drive growth and increase engagement. Lead cross-functional teams that ensure coordination and execution across the museum.
In this role, you will….
STRATEGY
· Develop strategies in support of the museum's strategic plan goal of driving attendance to one million visitors a year. Set strategic direction for marketing and communications functions.
· Develop and measure effectiveness and engagement goals. Collect, analyze, and leverage data/metrics to evaluate performance. Create, maintain, and communicate growth goals by platform using KPIs and dashboards.
· Identify and engage key community members and stakeholders.
· Research, recommend, and implement new marketing, communications, and media strategies. Benchmark Mia with other like and aspirational institutions.
· Develop internal and external key messages and strategies in support of major initiatives, strategic plan goals, partnerships, and projects.
· Develop and maintain marketing content plan, editorial plan, and calendar.
PROJECT, PROCESS, AND BUDGET MANAGEMENT
· Collaborate with divisional and departmental directors in support of cross-functional goals and planning efforts.
· Assess incoming projects and plan the departmental production schedule in close collaboration with staff and internal partners.
· Create and implement marketing structure including new models, frameworks, templates, and timelines that elevate team effectiveness and capacity.
· Provide regular status reports to internal partners and senior leaders.
· Develop and manage annual department expense budget and project-related expense budgets.
· Identify and problem-solve process, resource, and production issues while maintaining internal relationships.
· Establish and document team best practices and processes.
TEAM LEADERSHIP
· Hire, train, supervise, and elevate the performance of department staff members, freelancers, consultants, and vendors.
· Lead cross-functional teams.
· Foster a collaborative and engaged department. Encourage and support professional development and skill building.
Requirements
· Ten or more years of experience in marketing and communications.
· At least two years of supervisory experience.
· Deep knowledge of digital media including social media, email, digital advertising, and website content functions to drive growth and increase engagement. Understands how to achieve growth in digital channels and metrics.
· Experience with public relations, media relations, and stakeholder communications.
· Ability to create short- and long-term strategies that leverage personnel, budgets, processes, and systems to drive growth.
· Ability to use data and audience insights to evolve strategy.
· Ability to leverage resources (staff, budget, tools, processes, and systems) to drive strategy.
· Ability to be agile in a dynamic environment.
· Proven ability to work effectively and build positive and strong professional relationships with key internal and external clients. Experience leading cross-functional teams.
· Experience building a positive team and organizational culture.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to identify and use outside resources creatively and effectively.
· Strong personnel- management skills.
· Skilled in CRM software (Salesforce preferred), CMS software (WordPress preferred), project- management tools (like Asana and Slack), Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite (Google Analytics preferred), Microsoft Suite.

The Job
The content strategist works within a collaborative, cross-divisional environment to develop and put into practice strategies for the planning, creation, management, and storage of curatorial content and adult programming as it is produced for and accessed across museum platforms by the public. This position reports to the Deputy Director and Chief Curator and works closely with curators as well as representatives from the Audience Division. The content strategist also supervises the Head of Interactive Media Department and the Digital Print Specialist.
In this role, you will….

Assistant Mechanical Crew Chief
Facilities Department
Full time (37.5 hours per week), non-exempt, union position
Starting hourly rate: $38.60 - $40.54 depending on qualifications
Shift: Monday – Friday plus 1 week 24 hour call every 5 weeks
The Job
To assist in the preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance measures at Mia for building heating, humidity, cooling and temperature control systems and the maintenance and operation of central boiler and chiller plants.
In this role, you will….
1. Assist in the development of a comprehensive preventative maintenance program. Carry out tasks outlined in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) program. Work with and train Mechanical Maintenance Specialists on the general maintenance and operation of ALL building systems, including the preventative and corrective maintenance of equipment.
2. Operate and maintain boiler and chiller plants and related sub systems. Repair as required, fans, motors, compressors, control systems and other MEP components and apparatuses. Maintain museum quality air, temperature, and humidity requirements. Troubleshoots HVAC power limited controls.
3. Work with computers. Operate the building automation system (BAS). Work with Google platforms, building automation systems, and CMMS.
4. Work closely with the Physical Plant Manager and Mechanical Crew Chief to ensure all Mia mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) equipment is kept safe and up to code.
5. Maintain and repair restaurant equipment including dishwashers, coolers, freezers, exhaust hood, and all other related equipment.
6. Assist other maintenance personnel and perform other related duties or responsibilities as required or assigned, including training or serving on committees.

Specific Requirements
Education:
· H.S. Diploma or GED
· Field related vocational education in HVACR or equivalent in job experience.
· Universal Refrigerant Transition Certificate (CFC) preferred.
Skills/Experience:
· Preferred valid Minnesota Class 1-C Boiler Engineer license or ability to get within 3 years.
· 3+ years’ working knowledge of reciprocating and centrifugal chillers.
· 3+ years’ experience operating commercial, industrial, campus, and/or museum MEP systems.
· Must have the proven skills necessary to repair walk in and reach in coolers, freezers, and refrigerators.
· Must have proven skill to operate and maintain Rooftop Units, Air Handler Units, and Make-Up Air Handler Units.
· Must have proven working knowledge of building and energy management systems, electrical and pneumatic temperature/humidity control equipment.
· Adept with low voltage controls and wiring.
· Strong skillset for using digitized organization tools such as CMMS and building automation systems.
· Must be willing to work 24/7 emergency call on a rotational basis.
· Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documents
· Must have a valid driver’s license.
