Vitality Arts Coordinator

Part-time (30 hours weekly), temporary (two years), non-exempt

Hourly rate: $30.80 per hour

 

The Job

The Vitality Arts Program Coordinator is a grant funded position that provides support for a grant focused on sequential art classes, digital offerings, and open studios for visitors 55 and over. This grant-funded temporary (two years) part-time (30 hours weekly) position is needed starting May 2026.

 

In this role, you will…

  • Coordinate activities for two in-person tracks of Mia’s Vitality Arts initiative: the facilitation of sequential programming for elders (55+), and creation and facilitation of Studio 55, open studios for elders (55+). 
  • Conduct outreach to diverse community organizations that serve elders in Minnesota (e.g. rural, LGBTQ+, Native American) to broaden reach of Vitality Arts programs and advocacy.
  • Develop and coordinate virtual sequential programs for elders (55+) based on existing in-person model.
  • Support coordination of teaching artists and staffing for Vitality Arts programs and events and provide administrative support to staff, teaching artists, program participants, and teaching assistants.
  • Work with the Manager of Programming to coordinate surveys for participants, evaluating the program year-over-year.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the Programming Department.

 

To be successful in this role, you have…

  • Minimum one year of related work experience with multigenerational audiences, within a museum setting is a plus.
  • Experience fostering relationships with diverse communities and building collaborative programming.
  • Comfortability with various art materials.
  • Knowledge of a broad range of periods and styles of art and culture.
  • Experience in customer- or client-facing positions
  • Excellent written, verbal, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational ability and attention to detail
  • Basic word processing and spreadsheet skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience writing curriculum
  • Experience with program management
  • Skilled in Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, and project-management software
  • (Asana preferred) and knowledge of virtual-learning capabilities.
  • Proficiency in languages other than English is desirable.

 

Specific Requirements:

BA in Art, Art History, Museum Studies, Arts Administration, or related field
