Full-time, non-exempt, 37.5 hours per week, Union
Pay: $21.87 hourly
Shift: Tuesday – Saturday, 5 p.m. – 1:00 a.m., and special events as assigned
The Job
To clean and maintain various areas of the museum as assigned.
In this role, you will….
1. Keep assigned areas of the building clean and orderly by doing some or all of the following functions:
- Vacuum carpet
- Empty waste baskets and collect paper for the recycling bin
- Clean bathrooms
- Clean glass and brass with proper cleaning products
- Maintain and clean floors using proper floor care products, machines, and techniques
2. Keep work area orderly and keep all equipment clean.
3. Perform minor maintenance on cleaning equipment or notify Building Services Manager if repair work is required
4. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned, including during special events outside of regular schedule
To be successful in this role…
You are able to work independently. Have excellent attention to detail. You have team skills and the ability to work effectively and positively with staff and all other internal and external contacts.
Specific Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior maintenance experience
- Strong experience with wood and marble floor maintenance
- Experience operating floor machines
Physical Requirements: standing for extended periods of time, bending, arms above head, lifting 30 lbs. (more than that with assistance). Must be able to work around cleaning solvents and chemicals using proper PPE.
Equipment Operated: shampoo machine, vacuum cleaner, walk-behind auto scrubber, riding scrubber, etc.
